Camp E.L.K. was one of the top ranked overnight camps on the prestigious list of 500 best U.S. summer camps. The list recognizes 200-day camps and 300 overnight camps. The locations are ranked based on a survey of 30,000 parents conducted in 2023 and 2024 and nearly 700,000 social media reviews on Google and Facebook. Camps were rated on criteria like selection of offered activities, accessibility, staff-to-children ratio, and camp safety.
“We are honored to have Camp E.L.K recognized by Newsweek as one of the best summer camps in the country,” said Jeff McBride, CEO of YMCA OC. “From archery, nature hikes and swimming to scavenger hunts, skits and star gazing, the weeklong camp is an opportunity for kids to grow in independence and self-confidence, as well as meet new friends and make memories that will last a lifetime.”
The summer sleepaway camp is in the heart of the beautiful Angeles National Forest in the San Gabriel Mountains. Kids ages 8-17 enjoy a week of adventure, outdoor activities, campfires, friendship, memories and more.
